Yet Another Proof of Cantor’s Theorem
We present various proofs of Cantor’s theorem in set theory: namely that the cardinality of the power set of a set X exceeds the cardinality of X, and in particular the continuum is uncountable. One of the proofs we present is inspired by Yablo’s non-self-referential Liar’s paradox, and it seems to bear a dual relationship to yet another proof.

through the origin containing vθ and projθ : R 2 → Lθ the orthogonal projection. From now on, we’ll restrict θ to the interval [−π/2, π/2], because Lθ = Lθ+π. In 1954, J. M. Marstrand [10] proved the following result on the fractal dimension of plane sets. Theorem 1.1. If K ⊂ R is a Borel set such that HD(K) > 1, then m(projθ(K)) > 0 for m-almost every θ ∈ R. The proof is based on a qualitative...
متن کاملAnother proof of Banaschewski's surjection theorem
We present a new proof of Banaschewski's theorem stating that the completion lift of a uniform surjection is a surjection. The new procedure allows to extend the fact (and, similarly, the related theorem on closed uniform sublocales of complete uniform frames) to quasi-uniformities ("not necessarily symmetric uniformities"). Further, we show how a (regular) Cauchy point on a closed uniform subl...

We give a proof of Brooks’ theorem as well as its list coloring extension using the algebraic method of Alon and Tarsi.
متن کاملYet another proof of Gaboriau-Popa
This note recasts the proof of Gaboriau-Popa in a way which does not use property (T). 1 Preface and clarification In [1], after a number of partial results by various authors, Damien Gaboriau and Sorin Popa showed that non-abelian countable free groups have uncountably many measure preserving, ergodic, actions on standard Borel probability spaces up to orbit equivalence. The original proof use...
